SpeedFiler does not react to toolbar commands
and does not prompt to file outgoing messages.
Solution
We first need to determine whether SpeedFiler
is loading or not:
- Do you see the SpeedFiler splash screen
when Outlook loads? (Version 1.x only)
- When you click the Send button on an
outgoing message, does SpeedFiler prompt you
for a folder?
- Does the SpeedFiler folder selection
window appear when you type Ctrl+Shift+V
from Outlook's main window or from an
incoming message?
- Does the SpeedFiler folder selection
window appear when you type Ctrl+Y from
Outlook's main window?
- Do any of the buttons on the SpeedFiler
toolbar do anything?
If the answer is "yes" to at least one of the
above questions, then SpeedFiler is loading but
there may be a problem with the toolbar.

If the answer to all of these questions is
"no", then SpeedFiler is not loading. In this
case, Outlook has most probably disabled it. Outlook will occasionally disable one or more add-ins if
Outlook encounters a problem that it attributes to an add-in.
You can re-activate SpeedFiler as follows:

Outlook 2007: In Outlook's main window, go to
Help | Disabled Items. If SpeedFiler is on this list, re-enable it. You may need to
restart Outlook in order for SpeedFiler to load.
If SpeedFiler is still not reactivated,
or was not on the Disabled Items list, go to Tools | Trust
Center... | Add-ins, select "COM Add-ins" in the list
entitled "Manage" at the bottom, and click Go... In the
resulting window, check the box next to SpeedFiler.

Outlook 2003 or XP: In Outlook's main window, go to
Help | About Microsoft Outlook | Disabled Items. If SpeedFiler is on this list, re-enable it. You may need to
restart Outlook in order for SpeedFiler to load.
If SpeedFiler is still not reactivated, or was not on the
Disabled Items list, go to Tools | Options ... | Other |
Advanced Options ... | COM Add-ins ... and check the box
next to SpeedFiler. After clicking the OK button, SpeedFiler
should load.
